Hello, here's a little bit about me!
I'm a proud mama of five amazing children, a Nana to one handsome grandson and two beautiful granddaughters.
Including, a great big family and a fantastic community that surrounds me with love.
On May 21, 2000 My husband and I were in a tragic motorcycle accident resulting in me becoming a full quadriplegic. Sadly, after the accident I divorced and thankfully got custody of my children. In September of 2002, I bought my beautiful home in the village of East Aurora, New York. With the help of caregivers, family and friends, I became very independent and started to paint.
Some of my children were young when my accident happened and still needed help with their homework. So, out of desperation and frustration, I began to put a pen or pencil in my mouth to help them and sign my name. They would often paint or color pictures and I wanted to join in on the fun! One of my older sons suggested I start to paint my own pictures, so we devised a few different ways to paint by putting the paint brush in my mouth. At first they were absolutely awful but as time went on I became better and better at art.
I give God all the glory for the gift that He gave me. My art not only strengthens, encourages, and allows me to express myself independently, but it inspires others to see the beauty in ALL things. And through all things, nothing is impossible with God.
